Character Art
Comic Production Art
This production art established the early visual direction for my upcoming graphic novel and defined the character’s younger appearance. I used a four‑layer animation technique, intentional color choices, and martial‑arts‑inspired posing to match the story’s tone. The piece ultimately became a key style reference that set the visual and timing standards for the entire book.
Concept Art and 2-D Turnaround
I designed the main character for an independent video game, creating a fully realized concept that reflects their mysticism and nomadic soldier identity. Using Clip Studio Paint, grid systems, and realistic structural elements, I built a precise 2D turnaround informed by the client’s backstory. The final design established a strong silhouette and now serves as the blueprint for the 3D modeler.
Samurai Aladdin
I reimagined a classic Disney character as a samurai, blending nostalgia with a fresh cultural reinterpretation. The piece was created using pencil and Photoshop to mimic a VHS‑era airbrushed aesthetic while preserving the character’s recognizable features. Viewers responded strongly to its balance of originality and authenticity.
Chuckie from Rugrats
This illustration re‑created a beloved cartoon character in a clean, coloring‑book style while staying true to the original design. I first drew the character in ballpoint ink and then rebuilt it in Illustrator with thick, consistent linework and an accurate color palette. The final piece captured the charm of a traditional coloring book and met all assignment requirements.
Snoopy
This piece was created as an asset for a larger project and aimed to faithfully emulate the original comic style. I studied the expressive, free‑form linework of the classic strips and recreated Snoopy freehand in Clip Studio Paint to capture his simplicity and personality. The final illustration embodied the original aesthetic and supported the project with accuracy and charm.
